Yup. I'm still ranting about the upcoming Greek parliamentary elections...

The British (if I recall correctly) have a saying about if you want to eat sausages never see how they're made and if you want to be part of politics never see how legislation is made. (If anyone knows the exact phrase feel free to correct me).

I think if you want to see the true character of a person (male or female) watch them run for office. Political candidates give a whole new meaning to ego trips.

Must. not. write. what. I. know.

My workplace is, hmmm, how can I put it lightly... well, closely related to anything that involves elections in Greece. So just having recently been done with the European parliament elections in June, still staggering from the recent work overload, we are in alert mode once again.

The only -and I stress only- positive aspect about this is that it will be over and done with in 30 days. 30 excruciatingly, looooong, boolsheet-crammed days.

OH! How I wish I could tell you the tales that I know...
but then I'd get dooced (fired for writing about my workplace on my blog).

IF I told those tales in Greek and upset some people I could coin my own term "flubberwinkled" (there's a mouthful for ya) or in Greek layman's terms "φλαμπερ - μαλακία".

BUT if I told those tales, then "they'd" flag me and blogger.com headquarters would probably shut me down.

Blogger.com HQ: "Shutting down flubberwinkle.blogspot.com NOW skipper!"

Me: "Nooooooooooo! I have a lot more rants I need to get off my chest!"

Blogger.com HQ:"We have our orders! Immediately! Aye-aye captain!"

Me: "Beam me up! Beam me up!"

Blogger.com HQ: "Mission accomplished. flubberwinkle.blogspot.com terminated".

Me: "Very funny Scotty. Now beam up my clothes as well..."

update: I wrote this on September 3rd, 2009 and only got around to publishing it today, Sep.15, 2009. That's how busy things are.

What is our national sport in Greece?

Elections.

An a capella Africa

This is an 'a capella' version of the Toto song "Africa". The astonishing human-made storm will surprise you. This is too good to pass by and wait until Friday to to post on my feel-good-Friday feature.
